Days 635-644, 29 Feb-8 Mar '16, Aulnay, Beauvais, Matha Langkawi... (now which of these things is not like the other).
After a crazy, busy week last week, this week was blessedly quiet. We pottered into Beauvais for a coffee and a stroll around the Tuesday market. Enjoying the change of scenery we decided to take a short drive to Aulnay and had a look at the local old stuff. There was a Donjon (or tower) and also, just at the side of the road, the old castle Dovecote (pictured above) - really should have used it as 'guess the picture' competition. Friday was the monthly market in Matha, but it was a bit on the thin side due to highly unpredictable weather. We even got hailed on during one of our massive countryside walks. We cooked dinner for friends on Friday night which was a fun evening. Other than that the highlight of the week was making a flight booking to Langkawi, Malaysia. That's right, we taking a break from Europe for a few months and will be heading from Dublin to Langkawi in mid-May for a few months at the beach. We are amazed and happy to find ourselves booked out til September. Wow. From September - who knows - our (next) dream housesit would be a couple of months on Central Park in Manhattan in a doorman building... that's certainly what we are imagining up anyway!
