Ria's Travels around USA!!!
Hay Everyone!!!
Well Well Well...
Am slowly making my way up the 'west coast' and am currently in San Francisco...Thoughts on this place....LUSH!!! I've absolutely loved being here...I've even booked to stay an extra night because am not ready to say my goodbyes yet :-) hehe.
Thinking about it I've probably like this place so much because it reminds me of places back home...and I need my home comforts at the min. it's a mixture of Newquay, London and Nottingham...some of my best places...its great!!!!
The ride up here was ok...am getting used to these long journeys...a trip down to London will feel like a ten minute drive now :-)
My hostels cool as well...over priced for what is it...buts its on a street called 'Derby Street' and I just couldn't resist :-)
Geeky I know....
OK...so you wana know what I've been up to...
- I rented a bike to explore the city :-) that was fun...although I fell off twice...if you see the steep hills you'll understand why!!! All fun and games here....hehe. I was cycling to what I thought was the Golden Gate bridge...and when I got there I was like...this aint golden...only to find I'd cycled like 2hours in the wrong direction!!!! :-( I finally got there 5hours after first setting off!!!! My legs were killing!!!! Worst still I found out there was actually a quicker route back which took 40mins...try n guess which way I went home :-) HA!!!
It was a nice ride tho...I went through Golden Gate Park...that was a really pretty little park. I had lunch by the lake. Very tranquil. I loved it... worth the ordeal
The Golden Gate Bridge was really nice to see. I rode to the other side and back... Only took me about an hour. It was really nice though...you could see the whole of San Francisco bay :-) very nice...
Oh and I had my first Starbucks Coffee...actually it wasn't coffee...it was white hot chocolate...am addicted to them now :-) yumyum!!!
I tried to go to the famous Alcatraz prison while I was there...but it seemed every other tourist had the same idea because it was booked up for the next four days :-( Oh well...there's next time... Al Capone was a inmate there...got some good snaps from the bay side though...
I went to there 'China Town' that was good. It's the second biggest in the USA. And of course I had some sweet and sour chicken.. LUSH. I've eaten so many chinese's since I've been here... I've been so naughty... hehe
OH YEAH....LOMARD STREET...this is the crookiest street in the world!!!! Because the street is so steep they had to put curves in it...see the pics its awful...so you can imagine me...WITH THE BIKE!!!!! My legs were shacking so bad when I got the bottom...was an experience a tell ya!!!!!
Hahahahaha
I went to this exhibition called 'Believe it or not' I don't know if we have them in England but there so funny. They have the most weirdest things in I've ever seen. Try n look it up on the net... well worth it...
ERMMMMMM.....
that's all I can remember...but like always there's probably a 100 other things I've forgot to tell ya.... Oh well the pictures will tell a lot.
Overall San Francisco has been a BALL!!!!...I love this place...I really don't want to leave...I will defiantly be coming back here one day.... But I have more exciting things to see...
Uncle Lloyd and the family next....and am so so excited....
Hehe
Love you all lots
