Well it's time to leave - all over! 30 days of perfect sunshine - have hardly seen a cloud and think there was literally a couple if spots of rain .....somewhere!?! Packed the bags for the last time and loaded them straight into the car as we were driving ourselves to the airport. Enjoyed our last Villa Ilias breakfast on that lovely bougainvillea covered terrace while the girls printed out our boarding passes. Will definitely miss that beautiful Greek yoghurt...

Our last full day - not only in Santorini but on this amazing trip! Hard to believe it is coming to an end - all too quickly. Decided to try and make the most of it and hired a car for the day. Massive day ahead - so breaky and off for the walk along the caldera to Fira to the Dakoutros Bros agency office where we had booked our day trip. Once we were met by the guide we walked the short distance to a waiting coach (already sweltering at 1030am!) for the drive down the zigzags to the port. Met a lovely New Zealand couple at breakfast who assured us the donkey ride down (or up) the caldera was worth doing - so off we went. Raym's toe was feeling a lot less painful so we managed the walk into Fira and found our way straight to where the donkeys start from. All happened so quickly, no time for second thoughts as next I realised I was on the back of a donkey and my donkey (lead by an elderly Greek man) was leading the pack! Much fun as we meandered do...

Sleep in! So good to know we actually have five nights here - even if it marks the end our trip! Raym is really suffering with his toe....he actually hurt it in Mykonos but now feels he's possibly developed gout. Breakfast was on a delightful terrace overhanging with bougainvillea - and was rather scrumptious! So good to have Greek yoghurt again - love it!
