Today we are leaving Coogee and our friends here. We are off to Hamilton island and Airlie beach. We woke up at 5 to go for a workout in Titan Fitness a last time before we fly out at 10 am. Susie and Metsd were there to say goodbye to us. After a fast we went back to the hotel to pack the rental car with our bags and check out. We dropped the car off and then went to check in for our flight. The lines were terrible and it took so long time just to drop off our bags. After the security check we found out that the plane was delayed an hour so we could just relax now.
The plane landed at 12.30 at Hamilton Island airport. It was so hot and humid, 32 degrees and prob 99 % humidity. The ferry that was going to take us to Airlie beach didn't leave until 3.30 so we decided to explore the island while we were here. Kris rented a golf buggy and we drove around the whole island. It was so green and beautiful. There was small restaurants and stores in the harbour and we sat down for some chicken and fries. All of sudden we had 5-7 kookatoos around us begging for food. They were so cute, I gave a piece of fries and they ate it from their claws. We soon had them all eating and sitting on us. People was walking by and looking at us, little did we know it was a sign on the table saying don't feed the animals. The sign was turned away from us so we didn't see it. No wonder they all were looking at us. We decided to leave the crime scene fast with our golf buggy. Kris put in the only geaar there was on the thing called GO! Back at the ferry harbour and it was time to take the ferry to mainland. It took 45 min to get to Airlie beach. We passed so many green islands and we were so excited to know that we were going to be among them for 3 days from tomorrow. Tomorrow we are going to go on a cruise with a catamaran with 15 other people and do scuba diving and snorkeling. After arriving to the harbour we took a shuttle bus that drove us to the hotel. We were staying at Boathaven hotel and spa. It was just in front of the ocean and had a nice pool. Our room was just in front he pool so as soon we arrived and checked in we jumped in it. It was so nice to feel the water on our body after that heat and humidity. After the refreshing bath we jumpped in clothes to go to town to check in on the travel agency that did the Catamaran cruise. We got there in last minute before they were closing. Now we were ready for the adventure that starts tomorrow, Time for food! Our bellies wanted something fast so we bought some steak sandwiches in a restaurant. We sat there for a while making a list for what we needed for the trip and decided to shop tomorrow morning. It was time to make a move back to the hotel and pack our backpacks, since we were only allowed a little bag each with belongings. Kris had to do some computer work and I made it all ready for tomorrow. Time for bed!
