Day 5 - by Brett
Lauz woke up a bit crook today, funny how the suggestion of a bit of retail therapy can pick up a woman's spirits though. Just as I was getting the tweezers out, Harbour Town was the suggestion as G&N were stopping there on the way to the airport. This allowed me to put the tweezers away as for those that don't know Harbour Town is a huge collection of outlet stores similar to a DFO, but on 'roids, with some blokey stores. She had me at 'Nike store'. By pure fluke, we park next to G&N's rental car, and then run in to them at a coffee shop on the way in! As we all know visiting outlet stores can be a bit of crab shoot, and finding clothing and shoes in my sizes reduces the chances even further. Walk in to Nike and sales on shoes and clothes! Heaven......for Laura and the kids. Not so good for me, all the men's clothes were either for jockeys or people that wanted to be jockeys but were slightly too tall. As for the shoes, why would I want to to highlight my size 14 flippers in flouro yellow. I'm pretty sure they stand out enough. We visited a few more stores, and then it was time for G&N (sounds like a mixed drink..."I'll have a vodka tonic and a G&N please barman") to leave. We said our goodbyes and Lauz had to get something from their car. That was the last we saw of them. It was also the last we saw of Lauz, for about an hour. Her return was like something at the end of a feminine hygiene commercial. She comes swanning around a corner, bathed in sunshine, multiple bags swinging from both arms, new hat, and not a care in the world. I was glad to see her happy. Until she almost walked past me. And her three kids. Not once, but twice I had to call out. I've never felt so loved. "Feeling better" I asked? "Cough" she responded. Bulldust I thought. We spent a few more hours there, had lunch and all walked out with something. The kids got to spend some of their pocket money that had been burning holes in their pockets. We visited the toilets about 17 times, half of those for Laura (coz I wasn't letting her out my site again). Grabbed some supplies for tea and headed 'home'. We finally got to check out the pool which was great, even though I looked like a human clothes horse with three kids hanging off me. Laura didn't go in, she was too crook. Cough. We cooked a barbie (not a kids doll) for tea, and ate out on the balcony under the palm trees and the stars. Lauz went to bed early as she really is crook. Not sure what tomorrow will bring!
