Well the last day was still full but was at a moderate pace. Todau we went even further out of town to rumeli castle. It was again a semi crumbling castle but this time larger and the parts that were open were better kept, though no safety devices were in use. We climb around the walls and enjoyed the views before walking along the bosphorus until we reached ortakoy town a hour or two walk.
We saw lots of fishers of what seemed to be anchovies amd people setting up ballons in the water for target practice for bb pistols and rifles.
When we got to ortakoy there was a small market and lots of cafes. Our sense was that it was 90% local 10 tourist. We had lunch of kofte (meatballs) and a game of backgammon with it. I taught alex to play and he promptly beat me... beginner's luck.
Then I finally found my paintings for the trip. Three for 50 lira = $25. So it was great.
We then camr back to town I bought some turkish delights to take home and then we just hungnout in the hippodrome (chariot races), the aya sofia anf blue mosque square, and topkapi palace.
Then back to the room for an hour or two for oack7ng amd bl8ging
The idea now is dinner. Bed and a 445 wakeup time.
