So we arrived in Barcelona and are enjoying our first day. Last night after we arrived we went out for supper. I had paella. It was good but not particularly special. I must say other than jamon, the occasional pastry, and churros con chocolate (which were all excellent) the food has been rather average. Therefore it’s been a disappointment.

This morning we got up early and broke into gaudi s park for free before opening hours. We then went to his cathedral sagrada familia. Then to la pedra and casa batlo apartment buildings he designed. All were great but the cathedral was really amazing. I have never seen such a cathedral. The pillars look like trees the iron work is crazy. The statues are amazing. I particularly liked the sculptures on the passion facade. I did not think I would like the stain glass which is a bit abstract but it worked really well for me.
