The travels of Karyn and Robert
We are in the Port of Argostoli, which is the capital of the island of Kefalonia and the Ithaka Islands. After the towns of Oia and Fira on Santorini it is a let down. The streets are full of closed, vacant businesses and graffiti. A lot of the buildings have concrete cancer, due to the high salinity. We have decided to just sit and watch the world go by, with our two priest mates. As well the frantic contact with Edward and Victoria, and checking emails. Today, good news, I have been offered another 10 week contract at UWSCollege, this time with EAP1, which is the entry level of proficiency. Most of my EAP2 students from last term have progressed to EAP3. What we could have seen were wineries, done that in the Hunter, Clare, King and Barossa Valley's, olive groves, nothing beats Rich Glen Olives on the Murray River, Victoria, a relic of St Andrew - the soul of his foot - opps, will have to go back another time. Or read the instruction booklet a little more thoroughly before going on shore. I was thankful for a quiet day as the last 24 hours I have been fighting off a throat infection, early nights and pain relief, gargling with salt every 6 hours. The day ended with the Brazil V Germany match, I had a quick shower, came back and it was 4 nil - what. Robert keeps watching the replays of the goals - haven't seen any Brazil tops since, there was a sparkling one at dinner. Ciao, tomorrow a day at sea, cruising back to Venice.
