11th June 2018 - Spent the day around the Barossa Valley. Took the historic scenic drive along Route 4 to view the magnificent buildings, the wineries and took a walk around the Sculpture park. It was forecast that a storm would hit the Mt Lofty ranges and they weren't wrong. We battened down the hatches and spent the night listening to the wild weather.
12th June 2018 - After spending a very wet and windy night we were woken by the loud screeching of a very large flock of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos. The weather hadn't really improved so we decided to head north to Port Augusta to avoid the pouring rain.
On the way we drove through the Clare Valley along the Riesling Trail and wineyards.
On arrival in Port Augusta after talking with the locals at the information centre and studying our next options we have decided to take the more challenging route north along the famous Oodnadatta track to Coober Pedy.
Consequently you won't hear from us for a few days as we will be out of reach of WiFi, but hopefully we will be back on line when we reach Coober Pedy assuming we make it. If you don't hear from us send out a search party!!!!

Susan McCann Wild times! You seem to be travelling at such a pace, I can't keep up! Loving all the strange sounding names. Do you have any idea how long this whole journey is likely to take? Catch up soon xxxx
Kaye Nutman At least you were snug as a bug inside the caravan in all that windy wet weather. The Oodnadatta trail sounds like fun. Don't forget to wave at anyone coming the other way and go slow! Sure you'll make it safe and sound. Looking forward to the next instalment.
