Had a massive breakfast in the morning, where they served pork and vegetable as well as French fries. Unusually morning selection I thought. Had some awesome pancake thing though. The hotel was so grand though, and was so nice to just chill there. We took the small ride to the airport and I said bye to Kharma and Jimmy and thanked them greatly.
The airport was really busy and there was a massive queue to get to get through immigration. I knew I was going to be alright but I really worried for those at the back, I wouldn't been s***ting it if I was them. Some tourists even some how waltzed though immigration and didn't even get their exit stamp.
This time it was an airbus and it was massive. Arrived in KTM and had a massive 7 hour wait in the airport. Eventually got on my plane to Dehli where the immigration guy said I wasn't meant to leave the airport as if I came back in it would class as a double entry. I forgot Ghandi internal airport was its own sovereign state now! Welcome to India!
Checked the board and of all the millions of flights MINE was delayed, meaning I would just miss my connecting flight. Managed to scrounge some free wifi and got in contact with the folks who told me KLM would put me on a later flight. Boarded the plane and watched a few movies, including the Great Gatsby.
Touched down in Schipol, and man was it good to see white faces again. Back to civilisation. Waited some more and decided to go to the bogs and change into my Bhutanese goh and arrive in style. So out I popped, storming around Schipol airport with a massive beard dressed like some crazy monk getting the dodgiest looks known to man. Eventually boarded my flight with loads of other geordie voices and some geezer in a Sunderland shirt.
Touched down in Newcastle and the doors swung open to be greeted my the whole family, all wearing comedy moustaches for good measure carrying a bottle of champers and glasses for good measure. My mam bless her was crying her eyes out and it was good to see the bros again and craic on with me dar. Fatha lad! They bought me a chocy bar from the vending machine and life was good!
We got the car back to Sunderland and I told them all about my travels. Arrived through the front door and was greeted by an ecstatic Henry. Got loads gifts off the folks and bros which was amazing of them, felt like Christmas day. Went for a carvery and a pint after. Was a truly amazing day… I was home!!!!!!
