A quick 2 night stay in Nara has proven to be laidback breather, as we have been able to take our time and slowly explore this little place. Nara is known for its famous deer park, and the deer did not disappoint, as they mingled amongst the shrines and temples and tourists - quite the unique experience! Most of the sites in Nara are in the wooded park, so we followed the path today to visit ponds, gardens, temples, and the Giant Buddha - the biggest bronze Buddha in the world. Clare learned how to make an origami deer at the visitor's centre, and Troy has learned that wearing the yukata robe and slippers provided at the hotel is a MUST DO experience every time, just as Clare has been telling him all along.
Also, it must be said that Japan has an abundance of clean, free washrooms conveniently located wherever you need them, and after Europe, this. is. amazing.

Clare Hansen Ha ha, is there anything better after a long day??
Carrie Nope! We've made some lovely memories with you in yours lol!
Clare Japan really knows how to do relaxing right...robe, slippers, tea, hot springs...
Caitlin Clean free washrooms are my dream...
Clare Hansen I have never seen washrooms like this anywhere in the world. And sometimes there is classical music playing in the public ones. And seat warmers for the ones in your hotel rooms.
