After an early start and a long drive we finally arrived in Sin City and it certainly didn't disappoint.
We checked in to our super cheap and very nice hotel room at the Riviera (thanks for the recommendation Pete). We, of course, headed straight out to the strip to check out our surroundings and do some gambling!
What a crazy place! The most disturbing of which was how many people had brought their children. There were toddlers and buggies everywhere. Note to self 'take kids to Disney World, not Vegas'!
We saw some amazing street performers and the fountains at the MGM Grand were fantastic. Plus we drank very large amounts of frozen Margaritas and even bought one in a huge glass shaped like the Eifel Tower in Paris Casino! We visited Venice, New York and Egypt and saw more lights and sparkle than ever before. After all that it was about 2pm and we headed back to the Riviera for a late night bagel and passed out. That was day 1!
Day 2 started with a breakfast at Denny's. Strong. Then we went on the hunt for a show. We settled on some comedy at Planet Hollywood and bought our tickets, then strolled down the strip again. In the cold light of day it felt a bit weird, so after an afternoon snooze we put our glad rags on and headed out into the Vegas nightime. This felt much more like it.
The comedy was pretty good and so were the margaritas again, whoops. By about 11pm we found ourselves eating pizza slices and drinking more margaritas. It all becomes a bit of a blur after that. The house won our $20 (big budget for us, ha!) so we were broke in Vegas. But still had an amazing time!
