This will be the last time you hear from us in New Zealand as we are off to SUNNY FIJI tomorrow!!! Yay.
On Tuesday we arrived in Auckland and said goodbye to our tour mates. We had the afternoon free and just chilled - Teresa fell asleep and Lindsay did the washing!!! lol She drew the short straw.....again!!!
In the evening we met up with a few people from the tour who were staying in Auckland for a few extra days - we headed to the QF bar and an Irish Bar for a few drinks before saying a final goodbye and heading to bed.
Yesterday we had a lay-in and spent time on the net before going souvenier shopping again - but we were very disappointed as we could not find what we were looking for. We then spent a bit of time in the post office sending things home - fingers crossed it gets home - we need to prove we did the sky dive some how....... After this we took it easy and watched 'One Fine Day' in the room as it was the only channel available to us! That was about it for the day.
Today we were booked on 'Aucklands Great Day Out' Tour which started at 8.30am so a fairly early start. First stop was a tour of Auckland where we saw the Sky Tower, Harbour Bridge, Mount Eden and a few memorials before stopping for morning tea. We then went to an Antartic Centre where we saw massive Penguins and Turtles before entering the Aquarium. We then stopped for lunch and headed to Aucklands Zoo. Here we saw just about all the animals that we have already seen in previous zoos we have visited and have therefore not taken many pictures. After the Zoo we headed to the Harbour where we boarded a sailing yacht and were taken on a cruise which was pretty good - we got to sail it too.....The next stop was the Sky Tower observation deck - here we saw Auckland with a panoramic view! This is the tallest building in the southern hemisphere - pretty impressive!!! Pretty good day all in all considering the tour guide who was a scary Buddy Holly look a like just talked and talked - mainly about himself and often repeated the same things.
We had one last good meal in the London Bar, which was a chore to get too as we followed two guys into what we thought was the London Bar but was in fact the Irish Bars stage door next door!!!! lol So we entered via the stage with everyone looking at us and made a quick exit through the main entrance!!!
Tomorrow we are off to Fiji - where we hope for better weather! We join a cruise on Saturday and are island hoping for 5 days - there is a good chance that we may not be able to update this due to internet connections.
Speak to you soon
