Sorry for the lack of blogs since Meg's birthday weekend as you can probably guess we have been on cloud 9 and enjoying ourselves too much to sit down at our laptop.
It all began on Friday evening we finally went to Luna Park Sydney and had the time of our lives being big kids going on all of the rides. 2 for 1 tickets made it all that much better too!
We got back just before mid-night and made Meg's birthday cake - Vanilla sponge with lots and lots of icing, white chocolate mini eggs and hundreds and thousands. The next morning we got up early to Facetimed (Video Call) Meg's parents, she opened her lovely cards and her beautiful present from Mumma Sazza (Sarah). We had coffee and cake for breakfast and then headed for the zoo, which Meg got in for 60p as it was her birthday!!
We had a lovely day at the zoo, it was very hot - We watched a seal performance which was brilliant. Meg kept asking me all day what was up as I wasn't my usual funny jokey self. I just kept shrugging it off by saying i was tired and hungry - Very believable as you all know. IF ONLY SHE KNEW.
Meg speaking now.. For my birthday Ryan surprised me with tickets for the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb that night! I dont know if i was more nervous than excited to be totally honest as im scared of heights! But anyway we got there, by this point i was quite upset ryan didnt seem himself - i thought maybe he was more nervous than me!
We went through the health and safety and next was getting our boiler suits on ready for the climb. Ryan and I went to the changing rooms yet little did i know Ryan wasnt oppisite me getting ready he was out sorting the next surprise. Typical me i had put my boiler suit on the wrong way and almost went out to call Ryan for help as i was abit stuck, luckily for Ryan I managed to sort it out myself.
We went through the metal detectors and safety checks and finally got out onto the bridge. I was having doubts about doing it as the first part was the worst. It was see through mesh flooring we were walking on right over the busy roads below and even worse the ladders were extremely narrow. Every step i took my knees were shaking and i could not look down. By this point Ryan kept hugging me from behind and kissing the back of my head - the most affection i was shown all day!
We eventually got to the arch of the bridge which was much much better with huge steel girders and no see through floor! The views were absoloutely amazing, we felt on top of the world, the sky was beautiful and managed to catch the sunset and the change in the sky was amazing to see. We had headphones on to hear our instructor talk about the history and the interesting stories about the bridge. It was literally unimaginable i cant explain how amazing it was.
We got to the highest point of the bridge and Ryan tapped me on the shoulder, pulled me closer and said "i love you so much, i want to marry you" ..got down on one knee and then said "Megan will you marry me?". I burst into tears and nodded with a huge yes, Ryan then broke into tears and put this amazing ring on my finger. Whilst the instructor captured the moment on camera! I literally cannot explain the rollercoaster of emotions that happened to me in those 30 seconds. I couldnt stop smiling or crying.
The whole way down we didnt wear our headphones as we were so overwhelmed talking. "Does our family know?", "Is that why youve been weird today?", "How did you do this?", "How did you know id actually manage to climb the bridge?", "How long has this been planned?", "Did you ask my Dad permission?", "Omg".
Speechless.
We ended the night celebrating with some glasses of wine, ciders and lots of loving in a cool bar in Newtown. Ended up staying up intil 4am posting our good news all over social media, facetiming mum showing her the ring! and eating more cake!
The following few days we laid low and enjoyed our time special time together.
