Hello from the Franz Joseph Glacier!
So since we last blogged we spent the morning in and arround Wanaka window shopping and eating sarnies by the lake. In the afternoon we went to puzzling world! And spent an hour and a half running arround a giant maze! Funky.
Then we headed up the road a bit - not too far and camped by the side of lake Wanaka. It was a very popular site as the music didn't stop till 1:30 am . . . Chris is still whinging about the sand flies . . .
Today we drove over 200k (2 map pages . . .) To get to the glacier. On the way we drove up the grat ocean road and saw the sea side. We also saw some massive mountains, lots of trees and some t*** in a land rover that almost drove another car off the road . . .
We are now in Franz Joseph village at the base of the glacier and have booked our glacier walk for tommorow. The reat of the day will be spent sitting and eating, thank god there won't be any driving tommorow!
Will blog again tommorrow to tell you all about our glacier adventure.
Ta ta Claire

Mum & Dad P It has been snowing here so our road is like a glacier this morning.
Steve Taylor The photos look awesome and I can see why they filmed Lord of the Rings in this country. Tolkein of that, watch out for the glacier, you don't want to slip upl and end up with a Gamgee leg! As for the driver of the Land Rover I can only assume they must have been one Aragorn b*****d!
Jan Lockyer Hope the weather is good, and ofcourse you have had the bank holiday, I know Jo and the family have been camping again this weekend. It all looks so good, have not been that far down, only as far as Hamner Springs, although I have friends in the area. Continue enjoying yourselves, had I been 20 years younger, I think I to, would have moved to N.Z. It is beautiful, and not so rush, rush, rush. Have you tasted the real fruit ice creams? I like the boysonberry best!!
Mum R Oh my word Steve!! NZ sounds wonderful and we are really glad you saw Gillian and crew. Am assuming you haven't been able to put photos on this for a while. We are looking forward to seeing them. Mind you I gather you have taken so many that we might need another 9 months to view them all...
