Ahhhh.....what a great first day. Had a relaxing breakfast at the buffet and then headed out to explore the resort. Wandered down for the first swim in the ocean. The beach here is more of sheltered reef, so the ocean swimming is phemonenal, but the snorkeling is supposed to be great. No biggie as long as we get in atleast one ocean swim each day! Next we grabbed a strawberry daquiri and headed over to the lazy river. This is basically a river where you float along on a tube...FUN, and the circle you do is basically the exact amount of time needed to drink a daquiri....how convenient! :o)

We basically relaxed for the day, alternating between the beach and pools, and lying under the beach umbrella's. By about 5pm we decided we had baked ourselves in the sun enough and headed to our rooms to clean up and get a little snack since our supper reservations at the Brazilian Al La Carte was not till 9pm.

Supper was awesome, salad bar starter and then a 7 "piece" meal where they brought out 7 different types of meats all cooked and glazed on a skewer which they cut off and served tableside. It was delicious and we were all STUFFED by the end.

We got picked up at 7:45am and arrived at Xel-Ha at 9pm. This is an all-inclusive eco-park that has snorkling, river tubing, cliff jumping, rope swings, ziplining, cave swimming and all you can eat and drink for the day. They also have a few "extra" activites that you can do for a fee like swimming with dolphins, swimming with manatee, snuba swimming, and a sea trek adventure. We decided to do the Sea Trek adventure were we were fitted with helmets that fit over your heads and rest on your shoulders and then are filled with air so you just breathe normally. We thought, "Cool, and easy to do...BONUS, it's cheap!". So off we went, we got to see all types of tropical fish up close and personal and also got to touch and swim with sting rays!! Very cool experience!

For the rest of the day we took in all the different activities in the park and had a blast. We did a bit of shopping through the stores and finished the day relaxing in the hammocks for about 45 min.....AWESOME DAY!
