Well sydeny what can I say well it's very different from melbourne, it's a much busier city and the people weren't always friendly but i suppose you get that in london. The weather was rubbish the first week I was here but the sunshine finally came out on my birthday which was nice.
Neil and ali were with me my first week in sydney which again was really nice. We did lots dispite the weather. Lots of sight seeing, opera house, harbour bridge, beaches and of course lots of eating out. We did the harbour bridge climb for my birthday we picked a great day to do it as the weather was good when we climbed the bridge, it was amazing, the best views of the city and the adernaline rush was great. I was the first one out of the group behind the leader, then neil and ali which was good because we didn't have to wait for the slower poeple in the group. We have got some photos whcih neil is going to add to my blog at some point. Also for my birthday we went to a restaurant overlooking the opera house which was amazing along with t he food it was the best birthday celebrations shame mum and dad couldn't be there. I will never forget this birthday in a hurry.
We visited manly one of the beaches in northern sydney which is much nicer than bondi. There we did a 10km scenic coastal walk which was nice and it wasn't too hot which made it better. It took about 3.5 hours and we got to see surround manly. The beach was full of surfers hanging 10! I also went to manly again on my birthday, I didn't do the walk again i just had some lunch in a restaurant overlooking the beach and again the surfers. Bondi beach on the other handy wasn't as nice as manly, the day we went it was cold and neil and ali went in the sea which was freezing and they got soaked and had to buy new trousers coz they were so cold and wet!! We did the 4km bondi to coogee walk that was recommended in the lonely planet but the views weren't as good as manly and the beaches were empty probably because of the weather.
We had read about this restaurant called gorvinda's which is a veggie curry house with a movie room upstairs. So we decided to go one evening so we had lots of food as it was buffet then chill out and watched ocean's 13 which was really good and relaxing as the movie room have sofa beds that you could stretch out on. A definite must do in sydney.
Neil and ali left on the 24th Aug, so I have been sight seeing by my self which is nice. I have been to the biotanical gardens which have the best ground views of the opera house and bridge ( see blog photo ), it was so peaceful there people were just sitting around, having picinics or sunbathing in the gardens. Definitely a very relaxing spot in sydney. I also went to the aquarium, it was good lots of children must be a holiday here or a cheap day out for young kids. Got to see lots of sea life which I hope to see when I go diving the great barrier reef, later this year.
Well I'm off to surf camp in a couple of days to try and learn to surf, that should be fun as I don't really like the see and can't really see without my glasses on so watch this space I'll update you with how I do. After I'm going to byron bay for some relaxing sunbathing hopefully then on to brisbane. So lots more excitment to come for me anyway.
hope your all well and enjoying the bank holiday weather I hear it's been nice there.
love to everyone
