We were told to skip out Surfers Paradise as its meant to be the tackiest point on the Gold Coast with lots of sky rised buildings and Miami style streets, but we headed there anyway- and i don't know if its because we were expecting the worst- but we were pleasantly surprised! Surfers is the total opposite to Byron Bay- its completely spoilt by hotels and motels and sky rised buildings and tacky shops and themed restaurants, but the beach was still an amazing sight. It stretches as far as you can see to the left adn right and was so clean with turquoise sea, and the weather was fantastic!! At last!!! We were only there for a day, which was definitely enough, but if the weather is nice i could have happily whiled away a day or so on that beach!!
