Hi Everyone Arrived in Lima last night, we had a panic at the airport as there was some confusion with our ticket and we seem to get some brainless idiot checking us in so it took ages. Considering it was the International Airport for Buenos Aires, it was lame!!! One duty free shop and a kiosk!!! We were not impressed, but we did stock up on Milka for the flight. We arrived at our hostel at about 1.30am, and we were really pleased, everyone stays in Miraflores but we're in Barranca, so we were a bit worried we'd be in some dead hole! But its very pretty, with a sea view with all these surfers. Today we walked along the coastline with these stunning and very posh apartments on our right and these beautiful palm trees and stunning gardens on our left over looking the ocean- not what i was expecting from Lima at all. The weather is so much warmer here, so we're back to vest tops not hoodies and scarves! We're just heading into the centre of the town to visit the Palace and Cathedral and watch the changing of the guards, and we're hoping to meet up with a couple of people later who know the city and can take us to some cool places. Only here until Sunday when we check into the hotel to meet our trek, and then fly out to Cusco on Monday at stupid oclock 4.30am! Then its 2 days in Cusco, Sacred Valley, and the trek to Machu Picchu! Very excited!! Then its party time for me- its my birthday the day after the trek, so fun times ahead! We have free internet in the hostel, but not sure we'll get a chance to update before the trek, so wish us luck!!! Love tasha xxxx
