With just over one week to go, we're now in Vienna, Austria. We had a great introduction to the city, that afternoon going to Schonbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Hapsburg family then that night going to Prater Park, a massive theme park right in the city. I have to say I went on the most scariest ride I've ever been on! It was like this crazy, spinning, g force, upside down ride. I swear it would've been illegal in Australia! It's the first ride I've ever felt like throwing up from, luckily I didn't though. We also got the whole group on the bumper cars. It was the funnest thing ever. I love how in Australia your only allowed to go around in a circle, yet in Austria there literally are no rules. The people running the ride had probably never seen anything like our group before. A group of 25 odd people ramming the crap out of each other! That night I also learnt that Austria has prostitutes. This was discovered when driving down a road and there were about 15 of them standing on the sides of the roads. We figure it must be legal here because they definitely weren't hiding what they were!
The next day we woke up and it was pouring with rain. We've been pretty lucky and had the best weather up until now. However that didn't stop us and so we headed into the city. We didn't know what else to do in the pouring rain so we decided retail therapy was in order. Vienna has some good shops :) That afternoon we went to the Shnapps museum where we got a tour and let's not forget the free shots at the end. It was interesting leaning about the myths of alcohol. Lastly that night we went out for dinner, found an Aussie bar and then froze my ass off walking back. I'm a little scared for when we get further north. I've learnt that I don't cope well with the cold at all!!!!
