Hello everyone, well for my last week in Australia i spent it in SYDNEY :D
We arrived about 10am last thursday and then came straight to our hostel, we thought we had found a bargain of a hostel for $14's a night, however, it was a 28 bed dorm, yes very big, very smelly, dirty and messy! Its not true that boys are the messiest people, i have to say after the past week i am a firm believer that girls are more messy...it puts us to shame. That afternoon i got to meet up with Rachel :D we went for a beer to celebrate some good news she had and then went for a walk around the city visiting Hyde Park, Circular Quay (to see the all so famous Opera House) it was here rach had a touch of bad/good luck, whichever way you would like to look at it, a bird decided to go to the toilet on her face!!! Suprisingly she was quite mellow, if you set aside that she was chasing me around trying to rub it off her face onto me haha. After wards we went for a walk along the harbour bridge to a place called Milsons point and we got the most amazing pictures of the city and the bridge watching the sunset. It was very nice :)
The next day it was raining so we thought, the best opportunity to go to the cinema, as we have been dying to see Alice in Wonderland, we went to the Imax here in sydney and i now understand why it is the biggest in the world, it was flipping massive, we had ace seats too. Then me and soph decided to visit the theme park, Luna Park, it is the smallest themepark in the world!!! However, we had a really good afternoon acting like children running on all the rides. There was one ride we went on called the wild mouse ride. Now i always remember wanting to go on the one in blackpool when i was younger, but my mum always said no as it wasnt safe as either her or my uncle gerard slipped from the straps or something but i though, ahhh i'm in Australia its not going to be the same as blackpool. Ha! how wrong was i, i screamed for the whole ride and thought it was going to come off the tracks! The picture of me is that funny i had to buy it, just because of the fear you can see in my face, never again!! That night me and soph went to the backpacker irish bar with rachel and nick for some cheap food. It was very good too.
Saturday we decided to go to Coogee, however, the weather was not in our favour, it was constantly sunny then dull (i blamed rach as everytime she decided to sunbathe the sun went lol). That night we went round to rachel and Nicks and we went to a french and carribean night with all their friends. I loved it!!! however, i have learnt i cannot salsa haha.
On sunday with a little bit of a hangover we headed to the rocks market for a look around and the weather was beautiful :D yay! then we just had a nice relaxing day wandering around syndey and all the shops. That night Rach and Nick had a BBQ with their friends so i went there for a while, i got my commupence here for laughing at rach when a bird pooed on her, it was my turn for one to go to the toilet on me, straight on my jeans, grrrr. Its apparently lucky, but i havent had any luck so far.
On monday the weather was nice again so we went to the ever so famous Bondi beach :) now for my entire journey so far i have been carrying a boomerang around to get signed by an Aussie for my friend Nicole. My friend rach assured me i would find someone at Bondi so i waited. Im sure glad i did as i managed to get the Bondi lifeguards to sign it for her. Now i was just happy at that until rach informed me that they have their own show on sky called Bondi Rescue and are famous in australia...how do i not know this?? Anyway, i hope you like who i got to sign it for you Nicole :) Then we went off to Watsons bay to get some ace shots of the city before heading to rachels for a girly night in to have Chicken one pot (my favourite meal which rach and her friend michelle cooks) and we watched a dvd, it was very nice to have a girly night in.
On tuesday the weather was beautiful again, so we went off on the ferry to manly, we relaxed on the beach all day (well i say all day but the weather got bad, so we sunbathed until the sun went away). Then we had barramundi for lunch and went for a beer before getting the ferry home at sunset, the weather picked up for us too leaving me with some very nice pictures and very happy.
Today was our last day so we went on the city sightseing bus around sydney, however, it is definately winter here, we got stuck in the rain and got drenched, pfffft typical. Then tonight im going to meet up with my uncle denis and Patricia's daughter Niky for some tea and then rach is going to come for a few drinks as we leave for New Zealand tomorrow.
