Yeeha, Texans are so friendly. They loved us over there, or perhaps it is just anyone with an accent. Whilst there, we attended the 44Th Native American Pow Wow at the Traders Market in Grand Prairie. We did several double takes when people walked by munching on turkey legs. A bit of a light snack....but then again, nothing is small in America. A visit to the 6Th Floor museum and the John F Kennedy memorial is a must when you are in Dallas. It felt eary to be standing in the exact spot where Oswald fired those fateful shots that killed John F Kennedy. This is probably going to sound sad but we couldn't come to Dallas and not go to Southfork Ranch. This is where the infamous T.V. series Dallas was filmed. We felt nostalgic being there as we used to watch the show religiously with our mom as youngsters in South Africa. We went down to the Stockyards in Fort Worth to see if we could find some cowboys but all we found was a whole lot of bull. Those are the Longhorns I'm referring to. The whole area is in keeping with the old Texan way of life. If you ever find yourself in Dallas, you have to go to Landry's as they serve the best seafood and margaritas in town.
