It'll be a relaxing day I said? Ha, it didn't go as planned!

Got up and my roommate was still asleep so I decided to go out on my own and explore one side of Abraao before chilling on one of the beaches. It was a nice walk, saw the first house built on the island, which is now a ruin. Saw a stream, a few small beaches.

Went to check some beaches out to decide which one I'll chill out on. My curiosity got the better of me, so instead of going straight on, I saw a sign that pointed to a direction so I wanted to see what it was, whether it was a beach or not as it was in Portuguese. Well, it turns out that that route was the same route as the group went yesterday to the other side of the island. I decided to carry on as thought it'll be good for me. Wasn't a good idea doing it in flip flops though but I managed! Luckily I have the most comfortable flip flops which helped. It was so so hot but I felt so good afterwards. Lots of steep hills both up and down. Went through some beaches on the way so it was nice to paddle in the sea to cool down a bit.
Met a Brazilian man who was nice, gave me some berries to try which were nice and helped me by letting me know the last boat back as there was no way I was walking all the way back as it took me just over 2 hours.
Bumped into Rodrigo near the end. He had been running all the way, he's mad!!
There was another group at the beach, they're going the opposite direction from my group, so they're coming up from Buenos Aires and ending at Rio.
It was so nice to just relax and read for a couple of hours and go for a swim. The waves were very strong though! I forgot we're in the Atlantic now!

Went back to the beach before the last one to get a taxi boat back to Abraao. The Brazilian man gave me a big hug, bless him! Got chatting to two girls from the other group on the boat. Turns out one of them can sign a bit as she worked with a deaf boy before! She learnt 10 years ago so it was quite a while ago.

Went back to have a shower before meeting the others for dinner a at a restaurant on the beach.

After dinner most of us went out for drinks with the other group. They are lovely, got talking to a nice Canadian girl. It was a good night. Some of us got tired and we have to be up fairly early in the morning so we decided to call it a night and go back to the hotel while some others carried on.

Off to Paraty tomorrow!
