G\'day All! Flew into Melbourne mid the biggest floods/storm they have had for 100 years!! Had to abort the landing cos lightening was striking around the runway, turbulance had the plane jumping all over the sky and the winds were gale fore+! Nice greeting. Anyway, were going to have to go up to sydney to land but in the end the storm passed and we landed gracefully! Came out of the airport and it was clear blue sky and sun shining! So strange!! We are staying with Alex\'s mum and brother in Melbourne at moment, who have been the sweetest aussie hosts! Was lovely to have a big meal and nice shower as well as lots of good banter and a local to show us the good bars (cheers Nicko and Ryan!) Also did a lovely walk in the botanical gardens with Jayne and Charlie (the cute dog), they are stunning - saw a kookaburra!! There are trams here everywhere, it reminds me of being in San Francisco. Loads to see and do so will get off the internet and go exploring.... We plan to stay in the city seeing sights til after the weekend sometime and then go see the great ocean road before taking the overnight bus (joy!) to sydney!
