So the last few days have been pretty low key here. Its been too hott to do too much (pushing over 100) so today we headed out to the outdoor mall and then spend most of the afternoon in the hotel's pool. The hotel management also invited us to a free brukky (I think thats how its spelled) which was a lot of fun even though we had to put put up with a speech we didn't want to hear. Most importantly, while we were hanging low we also began making plans for out first weekend in Perth -- and our last few days before class starts. So in the next few day's you'll get to hear about a lot of exciting events. In the last day or so I've also found out some interesting things about Australia that you should all know if you come to vists.
1) Tuna is not what you think. I had to make a slight change in dinner plans when I opend up a can of tuna and found something a stray cat wouldn't eat. We've had some suprises with common foods during the visit, but they've all been plesant (ketchup taste better and coke has less sugar) but this was not one of them.
2) Every toilet (and toilet is the common word for bathroom, so you'll see "tiolet" signs around the cities which is fun!) had 2 buttons on it. None of us knew why, so we asked the manage at brunch. As it turns out you can flush the toilet on the left, or you can half-flush it from the right. This answered many questions, like "why doesn't the toilet paper flush every time?"
Most importantly, so you all know, I was able to buy the proper converter today. At the hotel, however, they are still working on perfecting the new wireless internet, so I am going to hold off a bit longer before I decide to buy wireless from the hotel. But the good news is that I can use the internet both at school and from the hotel now. Which also means I can post more and put up my pictures more quickly. Which by the way, you should look at because they are beautiful.
