Staying in California is wonderful! Matt and Joanne had been wonderful.
We started the day on Hollywood Blvd. where Gabrielle and I visited the Chinese Theater, the Kodak Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Roosevelt Hotel. We stopped at a small cafe, Shelly's for lunch, and as it turned out it was where they filmed parts of Million Dollar Baby! Aside from all of the famous/historic locations, we visited this amazing outdoor mall. The Hollywood sign is at eye level from the 4th floor, and we went to a mini-museum about the Oscar and Academy Awards.
By this point in the day, we found that the LA metro system is honor-based, so we decided to take a few trainrides on the city. Our next stop was Chinatown. Old Chinatown was beautiful -- all of the buildings were amazing. Unfortunately, many of the stores were closed for tomorrow's Chinese New Year.
Our last stop of the day was to Pasadena. We headed towards Wrigley's Mansion, but got off track when we saw the beautiful city hall. We also found a statue of Jackie Robionson's head right outside the city hall. Downtown Pasedina was beautiful. Its a great small city, and it ended up being the perfect way to spend an hour before dinner.
