Eventually managed to get children our of bed and decided to go see a giant Budda.
Temperature was 32 degrees C and very numid but for some reason my family still want to walk at tremendous speed everywhere - numpties.
We found a Subway for lunch so the kids were very happy. Over 6000 mile journey just so we can eat chicken terryaki sandwiches hurray.
The ride to the giant Budda was via a terrifying cable car. The journey was nearly four miles across open, up extremely steep mountains and down the other side. I was remarkable calm considering.
Once there the Chinese seem to have built a village for the sole purpose of taking my money and cheapening Budda's ideas. Though not as cheap as the monastery cum restaurant near the budda statue. All very tasteful.
Spent over an hour on the underground as some idiot at train station sent us the wrong way and we ended up on the wrong side of town. Made back just in time to be thoroughly disappointed by a world famous light show.
Still this was followed by a walk down the Kung Fu film hall of fame. I was most excited to see to see all those you would expect but Raymond Chow was the most exciting. There are many many photos. All followed by a pint of Guiness on the Hong Kong waterfront. (There may be a theme developing!).
They sell absolutely everything here in every available space, oh except booze. I have not been able to find an off licence anywhere and I have three days to go. I am going to die!
