Hi again. I have now been here in Puduchcheri (I am not confident about the writing as I have seen at least four different ways to write the current name. The previous, french name was Pondicherry) on the east coat of India for a weekend, and I like the place. I have enjoyed the variety of good food in this old French colony. It still has a lot of colonial buildings in its French town and next to French town lies old Tamil town. The whole old town is well within walking distance and the seaside promenade is nice, especially around sunset. I originally planned to stay here for four nights but I have extended my stay to six nights. Tomorrow I plan to visit Auroville. It is an international colony about 10 km from the city built in 1968 according to teachings of local guru Sri Aurobindo. Here in Puduchcheri there is also Sri Aurobindo ashram, which is the main tourist and pilgrimage attraction here.
