Arrived in Phuket at 10pm... a full 3 hours later than we were told we would be!! Bloody Thai transport was ridiculous!! After the boat to the mainland we were shuttle bussed to Surat Thani! Here, we expected to get a bus straight away over to Phuket, but instead were shuttled around two bus stops, before returning to the first one an hour and a half later to catch another bus!! Stupid!!

Anyway arrived late in Phuket (avoided the scamming taxi drivers!) and found a hotel to crash in... despite a slight language problem!! Easily solved with international hand signals and saying words in English over and over again at a raised volume!!!

Next morning we got up, had a brief look around the town of Phuket (pretty boring as it goes!), before settling in the reception of a backpackers place, playing pool, having lunch before we headed off to the airport that evening!!
