Arrived in Townsville after a couple of hours driving, dropped the car off and got a taxi back into town with a driver who found our close-calls with cows and kangaroos highly amusing!! Discovered there was a Greyhound down to Airlie Beach leaving within a couple of hours... so we booked on!! It transpired we'd have been stuck in Cairns much longer had we not driven or flown!!

Eventually found the caravan site we were being recommended to by the girls at The Lynd, and found the nice gentleman who owned it. Managed to get a caravan for the night at a pretty good price- though we'd have paid a fortune!! A quick visit to the toilet block before bed saw a toad jump onto my leg!! And some HUGE ones sat in and around the toilets!! We settled down for the night, before getting up early for the final leg to Townsville!!

So arriving at Alice Springs Airport in good time, we find that our flight has been cancelled!! We're to be put on a later flight direct to Cairns- as opposed to the trip to Yulara (in the opposite direction!) before heading up to Queensland!! Then we are told that flight has been merged with a further later flight, via Yulara!! Even the Thai's weren't this bad!! At the airport Tom managed to slip on some wet floor and give himself whiplash... the moron!!! Anywa...
