Arrived to Phomn Penh by Vietnam
airlines 35 min flight at 17.20. Handy. And toik a taxi to our hotel, La Maison d'Ambre. A bit poshy still, 'cause it was only a year old, or so. We had the Manhattan suite. Very nice. After checkin' in, went for dinner at the Asian Bistro in the riverfront. Already liking PP much more than HCMC. Here's somewhat nicer atmosphere, and this is much more compact city, it seems.
Food was averige price, ~10-17 $/portion. I took a mixed grill, with crocodile, kangaroo & ostrich meat. The best turned out to be kangaroo, though all of them were good meat. Beer was a bit more pricey, 2,5$ for 0,33l Angkor & 2$ for the same size Lao beer. Angkor tasted a bit better, though both are ordinary pilsners. After dinner, took a walk on the riverside, stopping by for a cocktails. A bigger bar at the riverside served Angkor by 4$/jug, which meant 2 glasses (~0,33l)/ face. Now that was a fair price! Makes about 0,80€/glass. So we had "some" glasses of beer there. ;) Walked home around 01 am, only a
10 mins walk or so to our hotel. Nice day. Tomorrow, the Killing Fields.
