Got here by a private taxi, a Toyota Camry, with a nice driver. It was a bit expensive, but we saved at least 2 hrs and my back, too, which is pretty important. From door to door.
The rural Cambodia on the way here looks pretty much the same all around. Oh, and of course, we started to eat malaria pills, which this time did not give any sickness whatsoever, luckily.
Settled in at Rikitikitavi, a nice, cozy hotel at the riverside. From the top floor restaurant there's very nice views over the river and the French bridge, which is on this blogs' cover.
Had a short walk at the city "centre", tried to buy more bandages and tape and disinfection fluids for Niina from the local pharmacy, but the man there didn't speak much english and ended selling us nothing(!), though we had itrms to show him, what we'd have wanted... Well, gotta ask from the hotel then. Duh.
Having a jug of Angkor again, for 2$, with a view of the Tonle Sap river. Then to dinner to Rikitikitavi.
-- Dinner was aaawesome, I had a chicken amok. A traditional khmer dish. It was very tasteful, and very good structure, creamy, lot of lemon grass. Very nice to be in a hotel, that also has a restaurant, that actually serves _good(!) food!! That sure is a rarety!
