Today we took all our stinky wet clothes which we'd attempted to wash and dry (in a rain forest. error.) to the laundrette then headed down to the beach. there are loads of nice posh hotels on the beach with sun loungers, we were able to hire one for 50p each for the day. I'm sure by the end of our trip we'll be on the sand! we're being rather flash with our cash this first week!!
We spent the day on the beach until it got really windy so headed back to the hotel. we picked up our laundry, mega cheap thrills. just like being back at harper and carrying a fresh bundle of clothes home!
We went out for dinner near the hotel, the waiter could have given number one a run for his money with his enthusiasm!! Every two minutes a convoy of trucks lapping town would pass the restaurant. one in particular advertising Thai boxing, blaring out eye of the tiger with a ridiculously plain English voice over. cringe.
The Manx from Elephant Hills recommended the 'Ark Bar' in the town so we set out to find it. en route we passed loads of bars with live music and even heard the lyrics 'like a wirgin'. Bridget Jones clearly hasn't made it to Koh Samui yet!!
We found the bar, it was awesome. right on the beach with loads of funky lights. I can't believe I actually wrote funky. I am my mothers daughter!!!!
In the loo's there was one of those annoying people giving you paper towels, Grace referred to her as a golly wog...I think she meant bog wog!! not to her face grace would like to add! A not so awesome moment of the evening, was walking to find a table and a man putt a monkey on my arm. that rabies jab was worth every penny!!!! he kept asking for 200 baht for a photo we weren't having any of it!
while on the walk back grace found a cheap sunglasses shop that actually sold a replica of her old Chanel ones (RIP) they are pretty cheap looking but they fill the gaping hole in the case (and graces heart!)
We are now in bed...watching Harry Potter! see you in Lamai!!
