We went to chiang Mai night bazaar as recommended and it was fab! we immediately saw hundreds of stalls and gift areas, but we were pretty focused on food! right by the food area were several cabaret dancers in full costume,some more masculine looking than others and some more portly looking! We picked up a leaflet and sat and had tea! pad thai and rice! with extra spring rolls! yummy! the show began at 9:30, they did the usual buy drinks to get a free seat! so ...

Our transfer back up to Bangkok ran smoothly however when getting onto the first bus we heard people talking of their friends that had been on the same bus and had their bags rummaged through while stowed below. Brilliant. We arrived back in khaosan road at 6am, found a room and checked our bags. Graces padlock had moved and the zip broken. We arrived in Koh Pha-Ngan on Sunday, a smaller island just above Koh Samui. we came across on the ferry and got picked up by Tom who owns our 'hotel' which we'd prebooked. getting to the hotel was on par with the land rover 4x4 experience, this is no exaggeration! however the view from the top was stunning, dramatically compensating the standard of accommodation!! Friday morning we went for breakfast, Grace had a continental breakfast which consisted of done pineapple and watermelon, tea, juice and 3 slices of toast. I had a Thai breakfast which was fruit, tea and juice followed by a massive bowl of rice soup. We hopped in a taxi to take us to lamai, to the swing in particular where we'd been recommended to stay. we found the swing bar. it wasn't as exciting as hoped. by swing bar I mean a bar with swings, not a swingers b...

Today we took all our stinky wet clothes which we'd attempted to wash and dry (in a rain forest. error.) to the laundrette then headed down to the beach. there are loads of nice posh hotels on the beach with sun loungers, we were able to hire one for 50p each for the day. I'm sure by the end of our trip we'll be on the sand! we're being rather flash with our cash this first week!! We spent the day on the beach until it got really windy so headed back to the hote...
