Day 1 of my Colours of Asia tour began in Singapore and was a free day, having spent several days already in Singapore i just chilled out and wondered around a little. In the evening we had a group get together where we meet our group leader 'Groud' and the people i would be spending the next 15 days with. Everyone seemed really nice. It was an early night as an early start the follow day as we caught a bus from Singapore across the Malaysian boarder and up to Melaka. This took about 5 1/2 hrs - what a grerat way to spend my Birthday stuck on a bus!! Things got better though once in Melaka as we jumped into a trishaw and took a tour of the city which was great fun and luckily the rain held of as it had been chucking it down when we first arrived. The guide for the tour talked to us about various different plants which they turn into spices and we got to sample and look at some grown in his own garden. We also took a walk up some very steep and slippery steps to what was St Pauls Church. That evening we celebrated my birthday in style with cocktails!! The bar also made me a small cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday. The group all put in and bought me the most disgusting cocktail which finished me off - it basically contained the whole top shelf!! The next day we left Melaka and headed for KL - Kuala Lumpar.
