The 1096 Cathedrale St Andre we visited this afternoon. I find it very difficult to imagine the age of these buildings. Australia is so 'young' in comparison.

We left San Sebastián 11am headed for Bordeaux in France. First stop was in Hendaye at the border where we had to wait for and hour or so. Had a bowl of soup at s cafe over the road from the station - one of the guys there seransded me with Og Sol oh mio!!! So funny. This colourful mural was made of ceramic tiles - very impressive cos it was different.

Heavy duty scaffolding at the Bordeaux railway station. (David's never seen as much scaffolding as that before!!!) Our 3 hour journey from Spain was very pleasant. Initially we followed the coast. At one point there were solar panel farms with hundreds of panels. The many communities we passed seemed very neat, mostly 1/4 acre blocks and houses with white walls and orange roofs. We decided to book an apartment in Bordeaux. After very explicit directions from our hosts, in regard to........catching tram 'C' and going 5 stops to "Place de la Bourse", then with the water in front of you and the building on your back, go right and the Rue Duploye will be first on your right....... Well it was!!! There was this dear Frenchman, mid to late 40s I think, waiting for us. Were we in for a surprise!!!! Our appartments was tiny - but completely ade...

We found this amazing 'deli type shop' on our wandering around thus evening. They sold every kind of tinned this you could think of - pate, pickles, pate, etc etc. Just loved it.
