We saw this little fella when we were driving in the pouring rain, in a taxi, from the train station to our hotel last night. Today we climbed up to check it out.

It was a mammoth day of travel today. We left A Coruna at 9.30am and arrived at San Sebastián at 9pm. We're still blown away with the similarities between here and Australia. There were wattles along with eucalypts today. We lost count of the tunnels we passed through - the terrain was quite mountainous in places. A thriving port Different architecture Fronts on buildings (creating very narrow closed in balconies all along) Bus #5 Old town buildings incl Town Hall, convent, a number of churches, monastery. Siesta time 12 to 3pm!!! (Actually close shops) Restaurants not open in evenings to after 8pm.

Pic of Torre de Hercules Patrimonia de la Humanidad (Hercules Tower). It is an ancient Roman lighthouse - said to be the oldest in the world still in use - 55 metres high. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately!!!) it was closed when we walked to it from our hotel. It took about four hours by train to reach A Coruna (NW Spain) from Porto. We're blown away with the amount of eucalypts we are seeing. Our journey could have been in Australia!!! There were communities...
