We decided to book an apartment in Bordeaux. After very explicit directions from our hosts, in regard to........catching tram 'C' and going 5 stops to "Place de la Bourse", then with the water in front of you and the building on your back, go right and the Rue Duploye will be first on your right....... Well it was!!! There was this dear Frenchman, mid to late 40s I think, waiting for us.
Were we in for a surprise!!!! Our appartments was tiny - but completely adequate and right in the centre of everything. We walked from the street straight in to the living room cum kitchen with a tiny bathroom off that area. THEN down the Heritage listed staircase to a bedroom. It was gorgeous. Our host Jean Michelle, gave us a detailed run through of every little thing we needed to know about the apartment and Bordeaux. (Including that we had towels 'for the hands' and 'for the body'!!!). "Apparts en ville Place de la Bourse" was just perfect.
It was only 5pm when we finished with our French host so we went exploring our surroundings. We found a great curbside cafe for dinner.
