Rain, rain, rain in Bordeaux. (Had to buy an umbrella.)

Tonight's' dinner!! We shared a bottle of Bordeaux red, a tin of sardines and a couple of slices of French bread stick (that we pinched from the restaurant last night!!!). Really yummy!!!

This is the La Cite du Vin, a unique place devoted to the cultures of wine, a new wine centre opened in June last year. It was sensational. There were interactive displays like none we'd seen before. Of course it was mainly about French wine. Australian wines don't feature greatly in their presentation (Peter Lehman's son and the Barossa was the only representation). The 1096 Cathedrale St Andre we visited this afternoon. I find it very difficult to imagine the age of these buildings. Australia is so 'young' in comparison.

Heavy duty scaffolding at the Bordeaux railway station. (David's never seen as much scaffolding as that before!!!) Our 3 hour journey from Spain was very pleasant. Initially we followed the coast. At one point there were solar panel farms with hundreds of panels. The many communities we passed seemed very neat, mostly 1/4 acre blocks and houses with white walls and orange roofs.
