Vienna. What a wonderful city. Our hotel is situated quite centrally. It's easy to access all that the city has to offer. We ventured in to the city centre to the Stephansplatz, another amazing cathedral, no less!! The cathedral appeared to be a ghostly grey colour, a bit different to others we've seen.
Outside the cathedral there were a dozen or so guys dressed in full length theatre costume flogging tickets to classical concerts. We'd checked on the net to find such concerts to no avail so were marginally interested to find something we could attend. We were a bit sceptical that the tickets were genuine. We took the risk!!!!
Once we'd bought our tickets we thought we'd better check out the location of the theatre. Guess what? We found a Georgia O'Keeffe art exhibition on the way!! (We think that dear old Georgia's related to me - my Mum's maiden name was O'Keeffe - and Georgia was from Abiquiu in New Mexico, a place we visited in 2015). We didn't go in to the exhibition. It was a bit exe and I felt that I didn't like her art that much!!!
The concert building existed. A bit run down from the outside though.
We continued to roam the streets passing by the massive Hofburg Complex which incorporates a number of museums. The Spanish Riding School with its Lipizzaner horses is a part of it too. We saw some of the beautiful horses in their stables. Unfortunately they only perform on the weekend this time of the year so we can't check them out.
