Freddy then drove us back to Arusha stopping on the way for some sweet potatoes for his family. We had such an amazing few days! We did a spot of shopping before taking in Arusha's cultural heritage centre. There were lots of beautiful pieces of jewellery on sale with tanzanite in. This is a precious stone only found in Tanzania and is a love purple blue colour. Sadly even the cheapest items were way out of a backpacker's budget!
Back at the campsite we had a well deserved shower before dinner at the restaurant. We enjoyed chatting with the group about different local delicacies from our respective countries the funniest being Rebecca's rotten fish which is buried for 6 months then dug up to be eaten - I'm glad we don't live in Norway!
We all had an early night knowing that we had a 3am start the next day.
Short and sharp blogs coming for a while - hope you are still loving them! Lots of love xxxx
