In the morning for breakfast I got a (Albert Inn-home-made) muffin with a small candle from the German-Dutch-travel-group,. how nice! The chalk board above the table where the weather is daily written said, "May 6th, sunny"! Good forecast for my birthday. After the breakfast I said goodbye to my friends until tomorrow, waiting for the girls from the Palatinate who took me with their huge SUV .to Montreal.
The trip from Ottawa to Montreal went smoothly, but the scenery was boring. My hotel in Montreal was perfect (I had a little concern that I may have booked too cheap…), the small house and its outside stairs looked quite cute (in this street are a lot of low budget hotels) and the central Metro station was just a few steps away.
After checking in I took the subway and met up again with the girls. Their hotel was in Chinatown, there was a small but bustling pedestrian zone (we later found out that elsewhere in Montreal on Sunday the shops were closed). Late lunch at the Chinese buffet. Stayed there for a while and recovered from the roadtrip.
What do Chris fans at first when they come to a new city? They have a look at the concert hall. Place des Arts looked impressing even from outside. In front of the building is a large staircase on which many people were sitting in the sun. The weather was really wonderful! What a luck I had! Just a week ago at the start of his tour, Chris had written of minus 2 degrees. And now we could sit outside in a shirt!
What photos take Chris fans at first, when they came to a new city? Of course, the Chris-posters! What do Chris fans as the second thing in a new city? Searching for Starbucks.
This day will stay in the tour memories as the day of lot of chatting and only few sightseeing. .
At 8 o´clock I was so tired that I went to bed and slept for 10 hours (after the night before was pretty short since woken up thanks to jet lag at 5).
