Here I go again on my own!
What feels like a whirlwind tour of Hangzhou (and China in general) it's time for me to pack my bags and prepare for another lengthy journey south.
I'm currently sat at Hangzhou south railway station waiting to board my overnight sleeper to Shenzhen, a journey which will take 16 hours.
My plan is to then head to Hong Kong where I'll spend 2 nights before flying to Bangkok.
I've certainly had better mornings. I was out in an American style bar last night. Alone, I decided to give the happy hour a chance. (5-8pm buy one get one free) after spending several hours in silence, before I knew it I was on the dance floor showing the locals a few lessons in fine British dancing!
Then appeared the Bulgarian girl from the hostel. And what was supposed to be a relaxing night out, turned into a 3am bender! (dam you happy hour!!)
So having avoided the temptation to throw up in the taxi ride to the airport, I now have time to gather my thoughts before bracing myself for my mammoth journey.
I must say, I think I've had sufficient city visits and am looking forward to getting some sand in-between my toes and seawater on my skin.
Bring on Thailand!!

philyphil Your experience is getting more and more like a holiday to me. It seems to involve a lot of beer and now you are looking for sand in your toes?? Great to know you are ok.
