Stuey's Travel
Off to the European summer again! Only for 18 days this year, Sue isn't going because she changed jobs and couldn't get leave.
This year is special because the OFCs are doing another riding tour. This time the length of the French Alps . We are all meeting up at Thonons-Les-Bains on Sunday 30th July and over the next 7 days we will cover about 800kms (easy bit) and 25kms of ascent (the hard bit).
I have departed early, arriving in Geneva on Wed 26th July, so I can acclimatise and get a little riding on some long mountain roads before we start the tour.
My base is Aix-Les-Bains again, I ve been here 3-4 times before. Great town, good location nearby Lac de Bourget (biggest natural lake in the Alps) and some moderate mountains to ride.
Fast forward to Geneva, after a long trip from Australia, I've picked up my car for the drive down to Aix-Les-Bains...a Citreon C3 Picasso. For a small car, it has plenty of room for the bike (back seat) and in the boot for luggage. Drives well too....
