We slept well and didn't come under attack from any Cassowaries. Our plan today was to get to Mission Beach and stay there a few days it was a fair distance so we set off early.
On the way we stopped at Port Douglas which looked really nice, very touristic and another place to board a boat for the barrier reef. The weather had perked up considerably which lifted the spirits once again the sea looked gorgeous and so inviting but you can't swim unless you either have a death wish or at very least a stinger suit.
Upon passing through Cairns the rain started again we stopped and said bye to Vicki and pressed on to Mission Beach.Where it became apparent that we wouldn't be staying there long. Mission Beach is the place that people sky dive and land on the beach other than that there was very little that we could find to do there. We really wanted to meet other travelers but couldn't find a campsite with anyone that looked "Backpackerish" which in itself is quite amazing.
I think we stopped there for a few hours took some pics of a rainbow and then made the decision to head further south. We can't actually tell you where we stayed that night because we really can't remember but it was a small town about 150km North of Townsville we got a bag of goon had our dinner and a few drinks then went to bed. Thoroughly uneventful day.
