We left Pompei by train for Brindisi starting the 20 hour journey to Patras in Greece, spirits were high looking forward to our first boat trip!
We had a wicked lil cabin, restaurant, casino, bar, sun decks, this is the life. We fully abused the sun decks and paid the price, Dee's white strap marks are unbelievably true british fashion, can't spot us!
Got off at Patras in Greece, passport customs were non existant (immagrants we are!)burnt with no clue where to go, if in doubt turn left so that's the way we headed. Came across a hostel and were directed to an apparently nice beach in Rio. Once there we found that our nice and their nice is quite different but the sun was shining and baking hot with no cares in the world. Only accommodation was a campsite (we have no tent),train station it is then (see pic)
Spoke to a really helpfull local (who was a quantum physics student) he helped us with the trains and where we should go so Corinthos was the next port of call. With 2 hours to kill we made for a local restaurant, food was amazing (menu all in Greek so we didn't have a clue what we were ordering!), helpfull service and the best bit it was dirt cheap.
We arrived in Corinthos at 22.30, wahey now where do we go (getting quite good at this now) jumped in a taxi that came along and asked for the town centre 4 euro bargain, scouted for a hotel, got a result 60 euro a night with breakfast for all 3 of us, then bedded down for the night, shattered.
Had a well deserved lie in this morning and headed to the travel agents, booked the plane tickets to Egypt for Saturday. Until then we'll explore Corinthos and head to Athens to see the Acropolis.
