Tour ‘20, #No10
Bristol Airport was fairly quiet. Although there were plenty of flights on the board. Drizzle at Bristol. Apparently 30C in S of France.
Our EasyJet service, to Marseille, had only 20 or so passengers onboard.
Masks to be worn onboard unless eating or drinking (the food/drink on sale).
We were obliged, by France, to have previously downloaded and filled in two Covid-related questionnaires. It was only when we’d exited Marseille airport that we realised that nobody had asked us for these forms.
Checked into a small hotel close to the airport in a little flight-path town called Marigane (town nearest to Marseille’s airport). The hotel was on a road called Rue Bernard Hainault - sounds like a good omen (for those who know their cycling).
The hotel had a decent pool. Jackie had a swim.
A very warm and balmy night. We ate in a very cheap Turkish restaurant.
Interesting to see how many French were still socialy-kissing each other and shaking hands. I saw one young bloke, arriving at a bar, peck about five different people on the cheek!
Tomorrow we start cycling. Which direction?
