Day 6 of our pilgrimage and we are heading to Rua a 21 km walk. Temperature cool. Expected high 16 degrees with .... Sssh don't say it. We bumped into most of our travelling friends today apart from Nerelle and Ian. Even Teri frm America and Gloria who was a wee bit behind. U get the feeling they are long lost friends. My legs ached a wee bit and Steve has some trophy blisters on his tooties - not nice :(. As the guide book advised we would be ascending and when we thort we cant possibly ascend any further we ascend further. The path is easier as we are seldom on tarmac and just to make sure we are not disappointed in any way we have an ascent to our lodgings for the night where Hotel O Pino is perched on a hill. Dragging our protesting feet behind us (as they scold, nag and then yell at us to STOP) of course we don't listen we arrive and are instantly greeted with two flights of ascending steps to room 202. The thought of a luxurious bath in mind we open the door and lo and behold a " tub" looks sternly at us as if to say " whaaat". All i can say is that dwarfs & hobbits obviously provided the 'ideal' dimensions to the manufacturers. We did have a giggle imagining a 6'4" Aussie we met on the 'way' trying to both get in to, and out of this pregnant hand-basin.
Go down for dinner and meet up with Gloria and Teri and co and order our meal. Steve has Galacian pie comprised of, three separate pieces of pie 1x shellfish,1x shrimp and 1x fish. I thort i was smart and order pasta and out it comes decorated with prawns and tuna - oh yummie :(. A bottle of red wine arrives. I have one mouthful and await the main. We both ordered the veal which was nice but my appetite was failing due to the aroma of poison ( look it up in French) anotha mouthful of wine and the pictures are moving. I get up to see Gloria with my spare credentials (pilgrims passport) and the floor is moving. Of course her table were holding there sides twittering at me. I find our table and eat a lemon parfait very yum. At that point we make our exit and Steve assists me to recover some form of dignity before we ascend two flights of stairs and - bed.
