Steve goes travelling
For a cheaper option than the plane down we decided to get an overnight train from Melbourne to Sydney - 11 hours and sod all sleep later we got to Sydney and then within an hour were on a 2 hour train to the Blue Mountains. The Blue Mountains are a world heritage site and basically good for views, detox and walking and cycling. The YHA we stayed in used to be some sorta hotel or something = well nice, didn’t feel like a hostel. The first day we got there we mainly slept! The at night we tried to find some bars....one we went to with a Swiss guy closed at 10 and then the next we met the English blokes from our hostel and that stayed open till 12, party central! The next day we got a mountain bike out for half a day.....31k later we were both f***ed. The views were amazing as can be seen from my pics, but boy that track was arse braking (Lloyd you’d have loved it - the track that is) some of the hills were simply too much, Garth did make it up this b**** of a one and then admitted he felt slightly sick - I didn’t fancy it so staggered up it! On the way back there was one bit where my hand slipped off the back brake and I really didn’t think I could stop I was going so fast with so many bloody rocks and boulders flying under me! Great fun thoughThe next day we went for a nice little walk....ohh god this did me in more than the bikes! At least with bikes im a bit used to them but this was really a test on the old leg muscles. 4 hours later, a few mountains done and the steepest train in the world sat on we made it back to the hostel...ahhToday we’ve just arrived in Sydney ready for the xmas festivities to begin - it is however spitting with rain, what is the world coming too, altho im still bloody hot in my shorts and t shirt here!http://nottinghamac.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2085796&l=58ee2&id=199703881http://essex.facebook.com/album.php?aid=4805&l
