After spending 3 days in Coromandel i left it and i reached Tauranga (Mt Maunganui).

I decided to stay in MT M. cos that's the beach side of Tauranga (that has just the harbour) and also speaking with some guys they told me that TaurangaCity is nothing special.. So go for MT M. !! : beach, surf, relax and party.

As soon as i got there it seems to be in a "MiniCaliforniaCity"... just a long street with pubs, restaurants and shops all around, guys and girls wearing beach clothes and sunglasses... such a paradise place!

The backpacker is a kind of party-place; the people are friendly; the environment gives me good vibes... so let's go surfing!!!

i rented the surfboard and the wetsuit for a couple of dasy (just for 40$ in total) and after watching some teaching-videos on Youtube i'm ready!!

During the first hour i can't even catch a wave... but i don't want to give up... try again... and again.. and again... something is borning... sometimes i'm able to stand up on the board (not completaly, just a bit)... but it's funny!

At the end of the day i'm tired... i will never be a champion probably... but i had a lot of fun and i'm proud of myself :)

Coming back to the hostel i start to make new friends.. i've met an italian guy (the first since i left Auckland) and we started to talk about our lifes and our experiences... he suggested me to don't come back in Italy as well ahahah... we'll see!

The last night before to leave there is a big deal in a pub: beers for 4$... let's go out with all the guys from the hostel!

I spent 3 great days here, as well as i wanted: try to surf, chill out on the beach and meet nice people!

From tomorrow i will start another experience... Rotorua and the crash palace backpacker are waiting for me!
